Overview
The Mixer Setup Course focuses on the complete event workflow, from identifying mixer requirements and preparing the console to performing signal checks and executing the final pack-down. Through hands-on training, students will learn how to set up analog digital consoles, manage signal flows, build monitor mixes, and safely troubleshoot issues.
This course blends theoretical knowledge with practical, competency-based exercises using professional analog and digital mixers, network audio protocols, and industry-standard documentation.
Learning Outcomes
- Set up and zero both analog and digital consoles based on specific event requirements, channel counts, and venue space.
- Build effective monitor mixed and route audio using stage boxes and network protocols (Dante, AES50, AVB).
- Trace signal flow and rapidly troubleshoot no-signal faults to ensure pre-event readiness.
- Apply proper gain staging, signal checks, and mixer-to-amplifier connectivity.
- Complete industry-standard paperwork, including equipment condition checklists, signal checking logs, and loss/damage reports with photographic evidence.
- Implement critical safety protocols, including electrical safety, phantom power rules, safe lifting, and equipment handling.
